Hibernation

Posted by nevets007 º February 26, 2014 º Blog

My site has been in hibernation for some time now. Time to wake it up and get it up to date.

In 2011 I set the goal to upload all my pictures. I started with pictures from 1999 when I first purchased my first digital camera. I’m telling you it was the best, a Sony Mavica. It stored all the pictures on a floppy disk, a whopping 1.44 MB. The reason I loved it was because memory cards were expensive and I was planning for my first trip to NYC. My thought was I could take a box of floppy disks, unlimited storage. And I did, I took a box of 100 floppy disks 🙂 144 MB of storage, dang. hahaha

In 2011 I posted pictures from 1999 -2003, so to date I need to post a decade of pictures. My new goal is to get it done this year. That’s a lot of wonderful memories and I’m sure everyone will enjoy them.

SIDE EFFECTS

The iPhone revolutionized the the phone and camera. The one thing I can complain about is that I can’t keep my pictures organized ever since. You see since my first digital camera I would return from an event or a day out and then upload my pictures to the computer. Putting them in a folder like Samantha’s Graduation Party, that folder being in a folder for all events of that year. The problem with the iPhone is you just kept snapping pictures and it was difficult to download them into folders. It really wanted you to use iPhoto, that program almost does the same thing but the folders are hidden, and I was lazy to go digging for them. It’s just one long continues camera roll.

I’ve figured it out. Kind of, now I just need to go back through all my pictures and implement my solution. That’s a lot of pictures.

RECOMMENDATIONS

That brings me to my latest idea. I’m always giving recommendations of tech, software or workarounds. So I’m thinking of creating a website where I post all my reviews, suggestions or answers to questions I get. If someone is asking I’m thinking many others have the same question and hopefully I can have the answer. Lets see what happens with that.

Lets see if I can fulfill my plan and if I do, I will have lots of new pictures pouring into this site.

This was my first Digital Camera. The Sony Mavica. I wish I would of kept it but I gave it to my brother Ruben…
